Guys i was checking on my 5-6 inch crayfish named Mary. I noticed that she was hiding something under her tail. When i took her out i realized she had about 200 eggs! What should i do! She lives in a 2.5 gallon with no filter. I got her from my little brother's 3rd grade class. She live in 2-3 inches of water. Should i get a bigger tank?? She never met the other 3 crayfish i have. Does she need a male to fertilize the eggs? What should i do with the babies? Sorry i'm rushing but I AM GOING TO BE A FATHER!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

If it's a marble cray, that species is hermaphroditic. Females are self-replicating. Otherwise, it's a female that spawned prior to your acquiring her. Females are capable of storing sperm packets so they can fertilized additional egg productions in the absence of males.
