I just noticed yesterday that my blue crayfish seems to have an injured claw. The claw is still attached but completely useless. It seems to have a lot of trouble getting around the tank now. I saw another post on this forum with the same problem. It seemed that the solution presented was to amputate the claw in a sterile way. Is this really the best course of action? I wouldn't want to make the problem worse or potentially kill the crayfish.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

my 6-8" craw gets chomped by my shoal of 5 rbp all the time, craws are very tough, I wouldnt worry, once they bit an old one I had in half all the way to the legs and the thing still survived, for like another day till they ate the rest of him...
