Ok, so since my last thread my female crayfish never berried.
Thinking something went wrong I managed to catch another male cray.
Put him in a seperate 20 gallon and added the 2 inch female, and of course, just like I thought the male pounced on her right away.

This time, I did not move the female but removed the male.
One thing I did notice, is that this mating took longer than the other one
in my first thread, which took maybe an hour in a half. This time it took about 5 hours.
Do you think this means she is surely mated? I want to breed crayfish for bass food, and more pets so I'm hoping this time it goes well.

you may want to get a larger holding tank for the "feeders". crays are messy eaters and the doody will build up quicker than fish does. plastic horsetank or rubbermaid tote would be fine. feed them an assortment of foods to keep a varied diet and be a nutritious meal.

Another type of cray to look into is the marmokreb cray. they reproduce asexually and each one is a clone of the other. and reproduction is fairly easy accomplished.
