I have had lots of fish. Bred some tough breeds. It for some reason. Can get my crays to! 55 gallon tank.. nothing in it but one 6 inch pleco and 5I crays. Each about 4 inches. Lots of caves and borrows plenty or current and well oxygenated but not rapid water... what am I doing wrong or missing?

Alot depends on the type of crayfish. Most north american crayfish males change from form 1 to form 2, then back again with each moult. They will only successfully mate while in form 1. So, it may be a matter of waiting until the next moult.

You can always increase the protein and calcium intake to try and help the development of eggs once she is fertilized.

Most crayfish like cooler water so keeping them in a tropical tank may not promote reproduction. Red claw crayfish like the warmer water and do not alternate forms like north american crayfish.

Good luck!
