i have a blue crayfish..dont exactly know which species it is but i think its a cherax destructor.... i have had it for almost a year now .. since the last time it shed the antennae have not grown..... earlier it used to be really long but this time it have not grown.. is there somethin wrong..?? i am thinking to heavily plant my tank and i was wondering if my crayfish would destroy the plants..??

Cant tell you about the antennae, but crays are known to be keen gardeners inside a planted tank...

Thats why in my feeder cray tank i went with plastic plants...

oh i see... i asked this because i heard different species of crayfish reacts differently around plants..

^ that could be true as i've only kept marbles and another type before and both are keen gardeners...

As far as the antenna goes, don't worry. He either lost it to another fish simply nipping him, or crayfish can have complications during molt. Think of it like taking off a straight jacket. I've actually had 2 separate occasions where mine lost an entire claw during molt! Like I said however, don't worry they will be restored by the following molt (note- a claw often takes 2 molts to get back to its full size). As far as the plants go, general rule of thumb is that they don't make great tank mates with plants because they can eat and simply redecorate. But my personal experience is that a well fed cray with an established dwelling in the tank won't bother your plants all that much if at all.
