hello i just found to kool looking crayfish ( they are all different colors ) well what do i feed them and how do i get it to the bottom of the tank without my fish eating it

Crays eat just about anything that hits the bottom of the tank...

When adding a crayfish to any aquarium make sure there are no fish in the tank large enough to swallow the Crayfish whole. Provide plenty of hiding spots for the Crayfish that the fish can't fit into. Then just drop it in... Crayfish are a VERY VERY fast when they need to be.

The only time they are verniable to attack is when they moult and their shell is soft. Unlike crabs however Crays are smart enough to hide until it hardens as long as you give them a place to do it.

Make sure that any hiding places you give them has good water flow...they wont live in stagnent caves...

Yes...crays are fantastic tank cleaners...our's eat anything the fish miss...they LOVE market shrimp.

We have Giant blues...electric blues...and Red's. We've been thinking of ordering a couple of red claws and a pair of whites...

I have two and they really enjoy algae wafers. The other thing they really like is if a take a piece of fish meat from a frozen fish stick.

They do like to scavenge at night, do not feed them fresh or whole shrimp it contains something that can cause crays to get sick and die, cooked shrimp is ok, and they love shrimp pellets

Make sure the fish you have in there arent big enough to even remotely grab a hold of it. Meaning its tail or something. My friends oscars mauled 2 red claws. Then a week later, the remaining red claw cut the oscars pectorals off. Thus they couldnt direct themselves, the cray then ate thier eyes out.

shrimp can and often carry a disease that only affect other crustaceans. this disease has no affect on fish.
