so im interested in purchasing a 240 gallon tank but it has crazing on the seems in a couple spots. At first i was turned off by the crazing but today i saw a tank in my lfs with crazing and it didnt look too bad. MY question is does the crazing mean the tank is structurally compromised? ive already had one tank crack on me n leak on the floor and i dont want it to happen again. Thanks

Crazing happens over time to alot of tanks...square stock reinforcement or tipping the tank and beveling with weld-on #40 is a good measure to further prevent it, even permenatly. I get all my acrylic tanks broken and repair them to new quality. Easy to save $ where others are turned away. Take the time to reinforce it with weld on #40 and the tank will last many many years to come. Easy fix imo, i love tanks like these :) so does my wallett.

i was reading about weld on 40 and why do you recommend that compared to, what i read, weld on 16 or 4? i think thickness is too thick for the weld on 4?

I have used both #4 and #16 for years before i discovered #40. #40 gives you a bond uncomparable to the other glues. #4 is used for acrylic up to .25". #16 is complete junk outside of small applications. It is known for drying with bubbles and is also extremly brittle. #40 will exceed ur own expectations i promise you that lol...you get what you pay for. #40 is also what the best tank mfg's use for assembly.

Even the product disclaimer for #40 says its 30 times stronger than #4 or #16 and states it is the glue used in the aquarium industry. These are cold hard facts not just my own opinion
