I just acquired a 400g tank and i noticed that on the left rear bottom corner of the tank i see some crazing or seam separation (see attached picture). Kindly let me know if this is a critical threat for a blow up or not. Thank you.

I only use acrylic tanks (8 years) and every one I have owned has had tons of crazing or developed crazing. Never have I ever seen one break or leak but if it looks like seam is separating I would be concerned. 400 gals is alot of head pressure and weight. Talking like 1.5 tons. (3000+ lbs) ?

Not great but I’ve seen worse and on majority of tank. But ‘It was only a 150 in a lfs
The tank sat near a window and caught the sun rise and has lots of cracks near the seams I talked to the owner and asked if he was concerned he said he’s only going to worry once the entire seam
Became white the tank had been set up in the shop for over 10 years
I’m not saying to run it just passing along a 1st hand story
Personally I’d be a little worried if it was in my house
maybe In a garage

Inject a little weldon 4 in that spot only. Go over that bottom seam and the side seam with weldon 40 by tipping the tank. Should fix it
