There is a cat who lives about 2 blocks away who has been coming in my yard.. I like the cat, but he is trying to kill my bullfrogs.
He came in our yard before and caught a rat or baby rabbit, I couldn't tell.
He attacked out pit today, I got him out of the yard, and then she came running over to see what was going on and he reached through and hooked her nose. I know that she will kill this thing if she finds him in the fence, even if she doesn't start it, once he scratches her it's going to be ON. not only do I not want to dumb cat to be mauled or killed, he could easily put a claw in her eye, or seriously injure her. The owner doesn't like cats that much, her kid moved and left this cat for her mom to take care of.. so I don't see her bringing him in.

What I want to know, is there anything I could put around my pond that smells bad to the cat, but is not poison and can't hurt my pond animals if it were to get in there? I really don't want this guy to get hurt, or go to animal control.

I had the same problem growing up on our farm. I could never keep our barn cats away from my koi pond where they would constantly catch any frogs that showed up. There's really nothing you can do but get rid of the cat or keep it from getting into your yard.

get one of those ScareCrows. Not the funny looking straw man kind.

Its a water sprinkler that has a motion sensor. If an animal comes within range it all of a sudden starts shooting water at them.
You can have it on a timer and turn it on or off depending on if you're around

And we all know cats dont like water. My dad used one to keep the racoons from digging up his yard for worms and bugs. It worked great. And racoons are smart too.

I would, but I really don't want to spend much on something that would be used once or twice, and then have no use for it.. I think the outdoor dog might not like it much either :grinno:

Would sprinkling hot peppers, or putting them in something that has holes but no way to let the animal get to it work?

I think this cat just hates Tink(who is in my avatar), I walked her by his house the other day, when we came up he was walking off, but as soon as he saw her, he came within 5 feet of her and just sat there swishing his tail and staring. Why can't he be a fat lazy cat?

Father in law had a cat piss inside of his work truck out here, he just shot at it with a BB gun for a few days - it never comes back...he didn't hit it or anything.

My buddy used to have a cat that was nuts - it would crawl across the ceiling with it's claws and drop onto my frick'n head to attack me when I slept on the couch...god I hate cats...
