Crazy looking oscars

I was looking at pics on some guys site about his trip to china and I came across this pic of a tank with oscars on the left, and archers on the right. The oscars are much different than any I've ever seen and was wondering if this was a normal/strange coloration or what?

those arnt archers.. they are black skirt tetras... and the oscars are cool :] look like a wild strain.. :/...

Cool pic! Yep, those are black skirts - and I don't know about elsewhere, but those Oscars are pretty normally patterned as far as Oscars go, at least from what I've been seeing.
I HAVE been seeing nicer and nicers O's these days, though.

yea those o's would look sweet if theyt retain that exact pattern and color at full grown size! but i kno that is an impossible idea but oh well!
