It is not that bad. He has a bruise and a small piece of peeling skin. I was gone for a couple hours today. When i came back the nozzle on my emperor 400 was knocked off. the filter was not broken i just have to slide the nozzle back in. I am just worried that he will seriously hurt himself someday. he does stuff like this a lot. The tank is a 75 gallon 4ft tank. Why does he do this and what should i do to prevent this. It is not that bad. he always does stuff like this and it heals in a few days. i just wanted to stop it.

sounds like he might be board? does he have deco he can move around the tank?
I would suggest giving him a few peaces of deco to move about..maybe even some sort of floating toy?

All I have is a medium sized fake skull. I will get some fake plants soon as possible.
My rck use to do similar things. I added in more fake plants for comfort and he seems happier now, not destroying stuff every night anymore.

My friend used to have a ping pong ball with his O' and he would play pass with him. The O' would swim at the ball, forcing it out of the tank, in effect throwing it. He would play this all day long given the chance. You would always hear the ball bouncing around when he got bored.
