THe electromagnetic in line air pump i use make a crazy damned noise.

the piston has a spring that do jump on a steel ball.
Anybody who found a way to make less noise?
like :
changing the steel ball for a rubber, plastic.... ball?
apllying sillicone on jumping base of spring?
or a film inbetween?

All that without loosing bouncing...

By the way, the vise that fix the air filter is right behind and touch the steel ball
X==== O )NNNNNNN
vise.... ball .....spring/piston .
And seems to be the way to regulate distance from ball to piston therefore???

if u want a detailed plan look down page:

thx

Anyidea ? anybody?

Picture? Make and model of the pump?

I looked at the link for your pump. Is this pump brand new or have you been using it for awhile?

Was there any information that came with this air pump about lubing or greasing the piston? I would not replace the steel ball as it is designed for this particular application. In the exploded view of the pump, part #8 is the piston assembly. If there is an o-ring on it, you should be able to lube it with silicone grease.

Keep us informed with what you do.

Hi thx for answering,
since i cut some nes valve in a plastic sheet the pumpdoes work and noise disapeared when tubing is conected. like the pressure work is forcing air and lower noise. strange!
I had it run all night . the pump is not so warm

About greasing:
When I opened the pump i saw black residue of grease it is that grease that rotten my rubber valve, the piston has a joint of the same material around.
i wiped the grease off with paper.
i ll try to grease it once i fugure out if Thais have silicone grease.
Is it the white grease used in Playstation when you don t find graphite grease? lol

Is the acetic part in silicone could attack my rubber joint?

thx bye

If the o-ring is rubber, any grease you can use for faucet o-rings & seals would be OK to use. Sometimes it is called Plumbers grease.

ok thank you
