My rhom is about 6 inches now. I spend alot of time looking at him and watching him. I have never seen him poop. Ive never seen him trailing any poop. When I vac the gravel I see no chunks of poop going up the tube. When I look at him I cant even see where it would come out. When my oscars were this size there poop was as round as a pencil. Is this odd or what?
 
does he eat? if so that is weird you wouldnt even find any in the gravel.
 
Maybe he eats his poop.... maybe it breaks down before you get the gravel filter in there so its just cloudy water

Piranha waste is very different than typical fish waste. I had this concern for awhile but realized they release ''pellets'' of sorts rather than the foot long ''strings'' associated with Plecos, Oscars and other Cichlids.
 
yeah he eats every day almost.

either:
a nightcrawler
1/2 ounce fish fillet
a shrimp
1/4 ounce lean buffalo meat
1/2 ounce whitemeat chicken

his dinner kinda depends on what my dinner is.

Is not so odd I have a RBP shoal and believe it or not, have never seen them poop....Now that you mention it it is odd indeed...

Hmm...odd thread. I have seen my RBP's defecate and to be honest I think it comes out like miniature human feces.
 
super hybrid, eats but no poop. good if you ask me, twice the pet none of the mess.
 
with just one fish you arent going to noitce the waste when cleaning as much. I dont notice much waste in any of my solo tanks
