CRAZY RED DEVIL

JUST BOUGHT A BEAUTIFUL FLOWERHORN.only problem is i had to choose either to put him in the 100gal with my 23 inch giant gourmi,or my 90gal with my red devil.well i put him in with the devil,lots of plants caves ect. to hide,after a brief wrestling match (the devil won)the devil won't let the flower come out from under the rocks with out a chase.the devil even turns on his side so as to get under the rocks and scare out anything that might be hideing.(i have a jack dempsey and a convict also bannished to the under world) then backs out slowly.actually guards a certain spot where he can look under the shelf for wondering dempsey's/convicts.bad red devil.he even tries to bite my hand every time i put it in there.scratch that...ATTACKS my hand.anybody know a fish that will get along with either my gg,or red devil.HE'S SOOOOOOOOO CRAZY.I'LL GET SOME VIDEO AND POST IT ON YOUTUBE(PIGGYPIGFISH).

My midas is the same wat , hes in a 75 all to hmself i wouldnt even think of putting tankmates with him if you value the flowerhorn you might wanna get him out of there , he might stand a better chance with the gg

my RD tries to show my cons whats up, but its a stalemate. my cons attack my 6" RD all the time, and vice/versa. my RD and JD have drawn a truce, and my RD and oscar snuggle (i swear, the swim side by side, touching, never attacking).

I guess my RD is a pussy. but he is still a badass. all my fish are badass.

You have to expect this. A Red Devil, being a very territorial fish, will usually not accept new tankmates. Especially a Flowerhorn. Try him out in the 100G.

or throw a dovii, umbee or butti in there to show him his true place!

THANK YOU all for your input on this.I will try to put him in with the giant gourmi,but i don't think he will fare much better.excuse my ignorance.what are dovii/umbee/butti.does anybody have any pic's of these fish

just moved my flowerhorn/dempsey/convict to my 100gal hope this solves my problem.not sure my giant gourmi is pretty fussy.just have to wait and see.if not time to buy yet another tank.....yeah.an excuse to visit my lfs,

The only thing my Red Devil will tolerate living with are snails. And every now and then he takes all the snails and piles them up together.

what are dovii/umbee/butti.does anybody have any pic's of these fish

These 3 fish are pretty some of the most aggressive cichlids out there. As a heads up, dont follow his advice unless you like to witness death and mayhem in water.
