does anyone keep giant african millipedes? i have 3 in a 30 gal. they seem to be mating every couple of weeks but no babies yet i guess sometimes it just takes a while to get it right :grinyes: :naughty:

I think I've seen one of those in some movie, it was like a cowboy's dog fighting with one...

their cool and freaking huge though dont they get like 3' + ?

I wouldn't want one.... am I thinking about a different species maybe?

Nope Sorry, the only creepy crawl thing i have are some Scorpions caught about 6 yellow ones over here in Iraq, awaiting a cage i ordered online. I that yellow scorpion totally opened a can of whoop arse on a black scorpion, by morning on the tail was left on the black one pretty cool

i went to the orlando science center and they had a tank with two in it...... they are pretty cool. i had a taurantula for a while, there cool as well

actually they get to be about 14" they're pretty docile. strictly vegetarian but they look like something out of an indiana jones movie. the only thing is that you have to wash after handling them because they can secrete a noxious chemical if they get spooked, but i think that's standard practice for most herps? they're neat i'll post pics when i get a camera.

if you can find out about a bug that gets to be 3" long let me know!!!! i want it! think of the terror i could wreak! a quick trip to the local elementary school and there would be nightmares a go - go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont think in fact i no there isnt a 3 foot long insect out there to get at least that im aware of

He said three inches, heheh, There is the New Zealand weta that has been weighed at ovewr 2 ounces, the titanus beetle that gets to 5 inches long, the hissing cockroach at three inches, and the Borneo stick insect that reaches 14 inches long.

actually meant three foot how about any centipedes or giant beetles or others??? looking for something big mostly to freak out my roomate whos afraid of anything big but i like them that way because i can see them better. she about passed out when she saw tha 5 gal tank i had in the window with my collection of local millipedes, but i can't have anything venemous on account of the children and dogs and cats i'd feel bad if something happened to the cats or dogs   :headbang2

Night crawlers. I have seen them 3' in the wild, it was actually laying in the street in San Antonio Texas... its not horribly scary but I wouldn't want to find anything like that in my Boot.
