So I've been thinking that this pair of pikes I got were anthurus. They had a whole lot of spangling on them, and they looked dead up like the anthurus pics I looked up online. Well I was over looking at them, and taking some pics, and they seem to have less spangling than they used to. I did just do a large water change and remove some fish from their tank to another tank, so it could be that they're just stressed out and not showing their usual spangling, but I'm not sure. Here are some pics for you guys to check out. With the colors they have right now, they do look a little more like alta's to me.

Going sololy on these pics and the pics on Vinny's site, I'd say alta. They don't show the sheer amount of spankling of anthurus ... but problems arises with photos washing out some of them, lighting, ect ... so I wouldn't put money on it and call it 100%.

Yah, the pics I've been able to get are really washing out the spangling. They do have more spangling that those pics show, but it there seems to be less than there was before. Maybe they're just really stressed out from all the goings on earlier.

From those pictures they are definitely starting to look more like alta.

I'm going to buy an Aqualog, its getting annoying not being able to reference a good variety of pictures on the web.

Do it Peanut!! Becuase on Jens' site, it shows the anthurus having less spangles than the alta which conflicts with Vinny's site!!! This is why I stick with dwarves!!!

Here's a few more pics... They were a little stressed from a wc, so they were a little washed out. I hate that when I take pics, the spangles barely show up, when I can see them so clearly in person. I'll try again to take better pictures.

They look good, I will stick with my guess of Alta :D Not sure how many you have, but, looks like a male and female!

those actually look like the sax's rapps was selling a while back---i forget what he called them but they had unusual mouths like yours

I just have the two, and they are male and female. The female usually has a dark line down her side, but it fades in and out depending on her mood. She doesn't have nearly as many spangles as the male, but still has more than you can see in the pics.

You can kind of get an idea of the spangling on the male in these pics, but even those don't show all the spots. Its getting very frustrating. He's probably got twice as many spots as you can see in the picture. same with the female. I'll try to get a picture when they're nice and flashy, and see if I can show their true spangling.

I guess it doesn't really matter if they're Alta or Anthurus, as they're gorgeous pikes, I'd just like to know for sure one way or the other.
