Crenichicla Strigata

Hello Folks

I just got a Pike cichlid. Notices a strange behavior in the tank at LFS. There are 10 or 15 in the tank and not showing any color then all of a sudden something happened and all of them had a grey horizontal lines on the side.

Why is that ? I guess when threatened they go pale but same tank nothing change and all the color was back ?

That's a normal mood color change for showing dominance.

It's missing a humeral spot by the gill plate and the head shape seems too narrow.
