what do you guys think of this combination?

2 4.5 inch H. Psiticus
1 4.5 inch Urau Fernandez
2 7 inch A. Heckeli
1 8 inch Geo Altimira
1 8 inch Cren. Acutrostris

all in a 125 gallon. i'm still debating this combination. the only other way would be to put the acutrostris with my central americans but i'm afraid the colors won't be as good without the low ph. any thoughts?

That combo sounds worth trying. I would definately do that before attempting to put the acutirostris w/ CA cichlids. In general, Crenicichla acutirostris just aren't mean enough to hang w/ central americans.

Mmmhmm! Acutorostris are 'docile' pikes...as far as pikes go. They will be aight in higher pHs....colors should still be vivid...but yeah...lower is better. I dunno about the psittacus wit the uaru though unless you already have them together. My hops aren't horribly friendly to other large cichlids...if yaz get me...;). Nothin too serious, but why risk a ferd?

the Urau and Pssiticus are fine together. its the Pike that i'm concerned about. I don't want to much aggression coming from the pike. i've had my SA together for about 8 months and all is going well. i think i'll try this combination and see what happens.

If anything, add the pike a couple of days after the other fish. This will give them a chance to be established and everything. Crenicichla acutorostris are not only one of the prettiest bold pikes out there, but they also are one of the few Lugubris pikes that can be successfully be kept with Geos....;). So it should work.
