  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Would love to see update pics if you get a chance.

Bumpity--how are the fry coming along?

Amazing!!

This has prob alredy been asked, but is this the first time a lugubris type has been bred successfully?

Thanks guys. I've been doing a terrible job updating. I don't have any new photos but this one is from several weeks ago...

All the adults are settling back into 'winter mode'. Most of the tanks have dipped below 70º already.

I think several of the larger lugubris pikes have been bred. C. celidochilus isn't in that group though (lacustris-group, missioneira-complex), but they have been successfully bred before by Felipe Cantera. Vin Kutty got eggs a time or two.

Glad to see they are doing well! I was getting worried cuz I hadn't seen an update in a while! Are you headed back down to Uruguay for another field season this year?

Oh I wish I was going back this year but I don't have the money nor the tank space to justify going back this year :( What are you studying in Argentina?

Moved to Auburn AL. I set these guys up exactly the same as before, I don't think they even know anything happened...

FTS (about as simple as it gets, but seems like what they want)

I am hoping they breed again this fall, as far as I can tell all the signs are good. My other 6 celidos made it fine too. I isolated a bonded adult pair as well, but they don't seem to be so keen on the isolation (they were with a bunch of other fish previously). I'll probably end up reintroducing them into the group soon.

pH 7.4 (was 7.0 in NC)
TDS 230 (was 210 in NC)
Temp 75º
