i have both females starting to get some color

PP ~ Unfortunately that pic of the red pike was Ron G's - it won 2nd in class. Our red tapajos male crapped out in the show tank, was grayish red, slunk on the bottom in a corner and didn't show well. Last Sunday when we were packing up our show fish for the trip home he colored-up his typical bright red as soon as he was in the bag - go figure! Maybe next year....

We did win 1st (Cobra female) & 3rd (Menezisi male) in the PIKE class - - - third year in a row we've gotten first place at the ACA national for our PIKES!!

Also won People's Choice (Vieja argentea) for a 3-peat! 8 trophies total, 4 - 1st in class.
Must be doin something right....... Dan works hard taking care of our fish, she deserves all the credit for our success. We had a great time in Chicago, too bad you couldn't make it.

after reading and seeing the new info I bet there're quite a few nice pikes out there.

Since my male grew up with all its mates, theres no true aggression, just warnings. Especially since it has outgrown everyone else.

I got a good deal on two of these also! I'm going to post pictures eventually but I'm still arranging the tank for them. Might not be quite as large but they have a lot of red on the lower gill plates. Otherwise they look almost identical to your pictures. Good luck with them!
