Hey guys, I have a question for you.

Just heard about this specie, but couldnt find him on google or fishbase, have you ever heard about this?
If so, what group is it from, and its maximum growth?

Thanks.

Are you sure you're not talking about Crenicichla multispinosa? I'm racking my brain, I've heard filamentosa, but can't remember if there is a pike or not. My guess would be that its would be in the acutirostris/multispinosa complex, more elongated and thin bodied. Do you have any more info on them or pics? I'm curious.

Peanut, prob you heard about Dicrossus filamentosus, an South American dwarf cichlid. (hes awesome).

The guy just told me that they would get this fish for me, no images, so no ID.
There are some other species that they sell as sp. that I also couldnt ID.

I just want to buy some pikes, but that single unknown saxatilis pike that I have is fighting with my two juvenile kelberi in a 1000L tank in the feeding time, what would happen if I buy more with that temperament? (god knows D=)

Do lugubris group are more calm like dwarf pikes, or theyre crazy like hell like saxatilis?

Dicrossus filamentosus used to be Crenicara filamentosus and is still sold as such. Perhaps it got confused with Crenicichla.

I've owned numerous saxitillis pikes of different variety and never had any serious aggression issues. except with other pikes. Is the saxi that you are keeping one that you caught ??

Yeah it is that WC fish..

Its not a very serious aggression, since its only in the feeding time and I couldnt notice any harm in my pbs. But Im pretty sure it will decrease the growth speed of my kelberis, since they cant feed very well.

Wow!! I wouldn't think anything could slow down or come between a Pbass and its food.

Id say just feed more. Maybe the pike is hungry. How bout add some more cichla and a couple more pike so he picks on his own kind. WOuld love to see some new pics.
