crenicichla id

can anyone id this crenicichla. couln't resist, he was only $4 at the LFS He has red on the top of his dorsal fin. Any more info or links would also help. I have him in a 55 with tetras, cories, and a gourami. I'm guessing these will be lunch before too long.

they have those at two shops here, one just says pikes (forgot what he said they were) and the other says Columbian.

Aye, that does indeed look like sveni. I wouldn't really recommend trying to keep Lugubris with Saxatilis pikes....they grow to different sizes and have different conspecific aggression. Saxatilis are generally more conspecific than Lugubris pikes....sooo you may have problems wit the johanna gettin beat up a lot.
