Thank you. Yes, they arguably belong to the Reticulata group of pike cichlids. Their swim bladders are non-functional and only allow for short sprints, not sustained swimming. They come from the Rio Tocantins, Brazil in very fast flowing water.

hmmm i saw this exact kinda species in River monsters episode( Alaskan Horror) , it was in those freezing lakes in the cold north, get up to 4feet in length,n take 20 years or so to reach that size, Jeremy Wade says it not me lol are u sure this dude is from brazil?
