Sorry for the bad picture quality, im in need of a new camera.

Does indeed appear to look very similar to the Crenicichla sp. 'British Guyana I'. Very nice pike for sure. One thing is certain, its definitely a Saxatilis pike, and appears to either be a variant of saxatilis or lepidota. :)

I'd call it a sax since it's blotch is missing that 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock positions that I've read mean it's a true saxatilis ... but I suck at sax types *l*

definitely female. im thinking cr. saxatilis. the humeral blotch looks alittle to low to be a british guyana I, but thats just from what the one picture of seen of that fish.

alos to much spanglingbetween the eye and humeral blotch to be a menezesi or frenata.

just my thought process

Thanks for all of the info, I've been trying to figure out my pike is for a while now, is there alot of similarities between the male and female?

alot of males will also have more spangling.

Females should have a reddish belly, and some sort of white stripe in the dorsal and part of the caudal. Males won't have this.

Thanks for the info, then I for sure have a female. She has white in the dorsal, and a fat red belly :)
