I have one of these that should be coming in hopefully soon. Is there anything special I need to know about this type of pike. Are they more or less agressive then normal and how do they do with catfish type tankmates. My orange pike chewed the head off of my bumble bee cat. I'm just making sure they get about 10" right? And is there much difference in male and female? Thank you a ton.

i have one thats about 13'' loves feeder's,ghost shrimp anything alive krill and alage wafers he is pretty laid back can get mean but not often lives with 4inch loaches so i think u will be ok
 
There is a difference between male and female. Females will have the white in the dorsal and a pinkish belly. Prettier for the most part. They do get large, 13" being easily reached. If you got it from Rapps though, it might actually be Crenicichla sp. 'venezuela'. Venz. , strigata, and some of the marm. and lent. varieties look so similar as juv. its hard to ID them sometimes. Also, strigata come from Brazil I believe, I think Rapps last batch came from Venezuela or Columbia...;) Either way, awesome! You'll love it!

Thanks a ton for the pictures. I guess I won't be posting until Friday though. We went in today to get it and he wasn't there yet because thier fax machine is broke. She said that they will be in on Friday though. I love my LFS. They can order any fish without extra charge. HAHA I asked her about a snakehead and she was like well I could get them. But I wouldn't put anybody in that kind of touble.
