So I've really been interested in adding a dwarf pike to my semi aggressive community tank. I would like to know if any one keeps the Crenicichla wallacei an how mean are they? How territorial are they? Are they active fish?
Right now I have 55gallon an will be up grading to 125 soon. I have pearl gourami's, green severum, ctenopoma, rope fish, zebra loaches.

Wallacei are one of the least aggressive of the dwarf creni's. They shouldnt bother your community, but if you have more than a pair they will pester each other.

Yes, but they'll have to be really small. At first, white clouds would be your best bet, but small guppies when the pike get larger...If you can spawn your own guppies, it would be much healthier for your creni's. Make sure you try to stay away from crustaceans though, or you may have a battle with bloat because dwarf pike tend to not digest them as well as they should, ime anyways.

With any kind of live food, make sure to keep them in a quarantine tank for a while before tossing them in with the pike...Would hate to see ya lose any fish, especially crenicichla.

Got a stunner there! You might have a girl, not sure if there's a spot on that dorsal fin. Were you able to get a pair? I'd definitely go for a pair if you can!

That would mean female, they are the smaller of the two genders.

Her max size will get around 3-4 inches, where as a male would get 5-6.

How is she getting along in the community?
