hello
I got 2 crenicichla zebrina in my 200 gallon aquarium.
And i just got the chance to buy 2 crenicichla sp Tapajos red size 20/25 cm.
the zebrinas is about 25 cm.

can i mix them with my zebrina in the same tank?

Zebrina tend to be more passive, but you won't know until you try. Just have a plan B ready in case you have to separate the 2 species.

Thats true.
I got another small tank if dont work out.

But how are the temperament of the tapajos red?

What i heard is that the tapajos red would be a little more passive than the others.

Tapajos red tend to be less aggressive than Atabapo 1. I'm not sure if they are more aggressive than zebrine.

the same thing i have heard :)
my zebrinas are not aggresiv at all almost. so it might work out well.
guess i have to try then.

I've found Zebrina get more aggressive as they get older. My pair is very aggressive and will chase Rays, bass, and make life hell for its mates.

Keep in mind, I used to keep my pair with discus for over a year. Until they started chewing them up.

My Tapajos are much less interested in their tank mates. That being said, they don't back down when messed with.

My take...Tapajos are more tolerant of tanknates than zebrina.

okej will be interesting to see if my zebrinas will be that aggressiv to later when they grow up.
then i have larger cichlids with them right now. so i hope it would work anyway if they get aggressiv.

the tapajos sounds like a really friendly pike, and its a good thing they dont back down when messed with.

i have orderd 2 tapajos now. will get them in a couple of weeks

there are the tapajos red i got a couple of days ago :)

and so far it works good with my zebrina
