Hi,

Just got some wild Crenicichla sp Bella Union. I must say that the result wasn´t at all good and I just keep one fish. A friend also received some and again the result was bad. Finally we manage to put together or 2 fishes (with only 10 cm). Here are some videos from the day that the male arrived in my home:

I moved them to a community aquarium (that already had 4 Geophagus iporangensis, 5 Geophagus altifrons and 3 Geophagus steidachneri). They do get along well:

I know that eggs will probably hatch within 3 or 4 days and frys will become free swimming 3 or 4 days later. My question is - do I need to take of all tank mates?

Thanks,
Diogo

If you want the fry to survive then yes remove them.

Hi,

Are they from Bella Union, Uruguay?

Yes! At least they were bought like that.

Meanwhile the crenis are born! I removed all tankmates and decided to take about 1/3 of the frys to raise by hand!

It´s incredible the connection between this two fishes once they are together for 10 days now!!!

Here are the frys that I took:

I think that I have something around 750 frys in total!

Cheers,
