Hey guys I'm picking up a 15" Crested Bullhead Shark. He is being fed frozen shrimp currently, but I was wondering what other foods I should offer as part of a normal diet.

I've researched the Port Jackson's but the crested bullhead seems to be much more rare and harder to find info.

I've read that they like higher temps than most sharks and 70-75 is normal.

This will be my 2nd shark, and I just want to get my facts straight before he arrives. The previous shark was a Leopard (10-12 years ago) and I wish I still had it since they are banned now.

Thanks In Advance! :nilly:

The Crested Bullhead Shark is native to eastern Australia - they are usually found from Queensland to New South Wales. And yes they seem to prefer water temps between 62-77F - which is typical slightly warmer than the Port Jackson's - yet about the same as most other Heterodontids.

As for the diet of the Crested Bullhead - well it's basically a typical bullhead shark diet - i.e. mainly marine invertebrate based. So it it shrimp, squid, clams, and crab, with fish once and a while.
