Crested geckos

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 17 cresties, lol! Well, 4 adults and 13 offspring at the moment. I have a big fat female that probably weighs the most out of all of them.

Unfortunately I just lost my female come home to find her stiff on the floor with a bit of bark from the substrate wedged in her throat. I now have my male at around 7" TL and an a small female about 5"TL any pics of your set ups and cresties.

I have 2 females with 1 male and the other male is in his own tank alone. They'll breed at under a year of age but you shouldn't allow them to do that because it can stress and shorten the life of the female. It's best to wait until they're at least around a year and half old and have good weight.

My trio

I also have another red female I'm growing out. My plan is to purchase a nice red male and keep a trio of reds and a trio of harlequins (my 2 favorite color morphs).

Beautiful lizards pal, isit true that the colour of the offspring is not passed on from the parents. I have a banana yellow one and just a standard mottled one.

Thanks. :)

Well I definitely see some resemblance in some of the offspring to the parents but I think some color morphs are more dominant than others. For one thing I don't get any that are solid red like the one female. That one juvenile that is 6 pics down is the most red offspring I've produced so far. And it seems that black dalmatian spots are a pretty dominate trait, at least in my experience. This is why I want to find a patternless red male to pair with my red female with hopes that I'll get offspring that mirror them.
