would that be alright to use for a crested gecko instead of a heat lamp?
because my house is always around 65 degrees
and my room around 70 and i would like it to be around 75-80 in his cage for a more active gecko

I would do what Ryan suggested 25 watt party bulb should do the trick, get it in red or blue and hell be more active, because of the lack of actual light since they are nocturnal

or just do a ceramic bulb

Ceramics come in too high of wattage, if the gecko is in a small enclosure it could definatley overheat it. I think it comes in 50 watt lowest, and the temps could easily go above 90

you can always get a dimmer, but at that price your better off just purchasing a low wattage infrared heat bulb.

Just drop the blow dryer in the cage on low, thats what I do in the morning to heat the bathroom without running the expensive heaters.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,to all noobs this was just a joke, well I do this in the bathroom indeed but do not use a blow dryer in your animals cage.Thank you, drive thru.

]Don't they do better at room temperature?[/color] A heat pad really wouldn't be effective. You could try using a low watt bulb placed at a certain distance to get a little warmer.
yeah if the room temp is correct, and lots of states towns or countries will be but some places have very cold winters.I think dzb912 lives in a tee pee in the mountains someplace so it must be colder.
