so I was at the LFS that I get my crickets from and they asked me what I was feeding them too. I told them it was for an aro and they asked ... " you know crickets are considered to be fatty food for a fish".
My aro has been on crickets, meal worms and frozen shrimp. Since I have gotten my aro, it has gotten pretty big, est. 15" but has started to show signs of DE, so I stopped the meal worms and went with only crickets and the shrimp. But now after hearing that from the LFS, im wondering if it might be because of the crickets has something to due with DE ( i kno there is a lot of talk about how they get DE, and lets assume its due to fatty foods ).
I have looked into the sticky posts and see that crickets should be gut loaded but are they a treat food or a staple of their diet? I have tried the starving it for a week and trying to get it on sticks but no luck. Mixing the sticks in with crickets also didn't work.
Thanks for the help.
