I have dwarf onion plants.

since buying them I've learned they are not supposedly a aquarium plant. I've since removed them from the tanks and placed them in my OTB filter:

look in the upper right.

They are wilting SO FAST! 1 day later visibly depleted. now 1/3 of the stems are a loss. I'm writing to ask what I should do for them. I'm going to put them back in my tank tonight before leaving for the weekend unless you guys have any input. While they did seem to not really grow in the tank they didn't die off like this. I would loose on or two stems from the batch every week. I've lost like 10 already this week.

For the record the "non-aquatic" dwarf union flourishes with high light and a good algae cleaning crew and adequate fertilizer when totally submerged my plants are all over 1 year old now, and have moved to a friends tank.
