I'm wanting to get a RTC and i'm trying to think ahead for when it outgrows the 150. Before the flaming starts, i know this wont do for life but I'm limited on space right now so heres what i've come up with until i can build something alot bigger.

Equipment:
300g rubbermaid tank
70g rubbermaid for sump
1800GPH mag drive for pump
Heat: still looking
--------
I'm going to place the sump above the tank to minimize the space being taken up. The pump will be in the tank guarded by a milk crate. It will pump the water up to the 70g stock tank where it will run through two layers of pond filter pads and then through a foot of bio balls then return to the tank.

I've never build a filter for an indoor pond. I've always relied on pond plants and nature to help with the shortcommings on my outdoor ponds.

Suggestions and ideas are welcomed. I'm still looking for a source for a desent 750-1000w heater.

That actually looks great. If you really want to maximize space you could build a stand for the sump to be directly above the center of the 300. As far as heaters, have you checked www.aquaticeco.com? There is another site that's awesome for heaters but I'm drawing a blank on it (which is pissing me off)/.

i'm especially concerned with biomedia. I want to make for sure i have enough of a biofilter to handle the bioload. will 12" of bio balls be enough? Are there anything better than bioballs? is there a better brand/size?

Load up on pot scrubbies. It's the best bag for your buck .

Did I see a post about scrubbies???? come on over to my post and I'll set you up with a truck-load if you want.
