Ok, so this stock list is purely hypothetical, I'm planning a 75g build soon and it would be nice to get opinions on whether the stock I've chosen is entirely compatible and leaves the fish with enough room.

Stock list:
2x African butterfly fish
1x Gray african knife fish
1x P. Delhezi
1x P. Ornate
1x P. Senegal
3x Ropefish

The way I see it, the butterfly fish would occupy the surface of the tank, while the knife fish would stay on the bottom and at night swim freely in the tank. The polys would all be swimming freely. I will also be sure to add plenty of caves and natural cover for the ropes and polys. and a cave for the knifefish as well. I think I may already be pushing it but a friend wants me to add 2 datnoids to the list (I think they'll be too big for the tank just themselves as they grow).

I'll be building a sump for the tank it will be approx. 50g.

Anyway thanks in advance.

ornates grow way too big for a 75 gal tank. Get a palmas, sen, albino, moke or retropinnis instead.

Get 5 or 6 african butterflies to spread out the aggression. Also i agree with the previous posts do not get an ornate it will get way too big for your tank. Also a 50 g sump seems a little big try a 10-20 gallon Sump
