I have been reading up on filtration for a planned 240 gallon fresh water tank ill get when i remodel my basement next year. The tank will be built in wall with a a 30" closet behind it.
here is my sump idea:

sump is a 40 gall breeder, 36x18x18
My idea is that the water will have to flow through the media, i will probably just use bio media, but i could pack in filter sponges or whatever i want.
The blue line is water level
i have seen quite a few sump designs but not like this and i am curious why not
ill leave aprox 4" between the baffles, eggcrate will keep the bottom clear, 2" of clearence under baffles.
it also have a drain for my drip system, and just incase
i am interested in your thoughts on the design
