can a cross a convict with a green severum if so does it matter if it is a male or female convict and a male or female severum
if not can it be crossed with anything else
Severums aren't the easiest to breed from what I have heard.
In fact i have read up on their breeding behavior and it is very similar to discus.
They have to grow up with the fish and just kind of pair off.
Try a male severum and a female convict though as I believe female cons are ready to breed and male severums might be more interested in breeding than the females.
just sevrums w/out convicts (y would i ask if i could do it if i have already done it?) id say the male but i usually miss it cause i usually just wake up and theres eggs then a couple of days later wrigglers
can i see the turquise sevrums i heard they are like greens but cooler. its amazing how many sevrums there are now. ruby reds red necks greens golds turquise pure yellows. poor mans discus my ass i think they are better in a lot of ways
I have a big male yellow severum and a female purple spiny witch they grew up together and have pared of but were never tough enough to defend fry so never even had any hatch before something ate them .but convicts and spiny cichlids are pretty close related so i think it is possible and another thing i do think they have to grow up together because i have a parrot in ther wich i added later and flirts with severum all the time and he shows no interest in it
