Is it possible? Has anyone had success?

its possible, but they can only be bred in the wild. and in the wild, they live in differnt regions.

We've had a thread about this already. Yes it is possible because the first part of their scientfic names (can't remember what it's called) is the same.

As I said in the past thread, I'd be more interested in a jardini x asian aro (both scleropages), but that's just me. It might also be interesting to the Americans out there as it would have a better change of being legal in the States.

Interesting info thanks. And thats true...u never know they might be out there already.

so black aros get blue colored fins... silver aros have a reddish colored fins.... would the hybrid be a PURPLE aro? :nilly:

I do not believ it happens. Tey are both Osteoglossums. But what reasons would make them mate in the wild?

if they mated, the babies would look like silvers lol. whats the point. as jardiniboy said, i'd be more interesetd in a jardini x asian aro cross or a leichardti x asian aro cross or even a jardini x leichardti cross...
