What is the price per barrel for heating oil?? i know crude oil is 88.00 or so..But they are 2 different commodities ......What is the priece per barrel please????

Heating oil is diesel fuel. Diesel goes for about $3.85/gallon, but part of that is road tax (I can't remember how much it is, but I think maybe $.60?).

What do you mean? I lived in a house with an oil furnace for 5 years. "Heating Oil" is dyed diesel fuel, the same stuff I run in my tractor and some unscrupulous types run in their trucks.

"As a very broad generality: diesel oil, #2 fuel oil, distillate fuel oil and homeheating oil are all names for essentially the same product."

Yeah, I feel bad for people with oil heat. Propane has gone through the roof as well, it's making electric heat look better all the time!

YEAH I KNOW..but its converting to electric and having to install duct work etc..Muchos Dinero's:(

We have electric, but with no ductwork, there are registers in the rooms. Oil dipped less than 80 a barrel today, and OPEC is freaking out. They're calling an emergency meeting to cut production so that the price hikes up again.

Looks like its not the greedy oil companies that are keeping prices high, its the greedy oil producers who just realized they need the big Countries buying oil or they go broke.
