Hey guys, I have one tank that the PH consistently falls to around 6.2-6.4, so I finally went ahead and bought a bag of crushed coral to start getting it fixed up. How much coral do you guys think I should add initially, as I don't want to cause a really big spike. I got some of those medium mesh bags to put it in, I eventually want to raise the PH to about 7 to 7.2, how long do you guys think I should take as far as increasing the amount of coral? I just don't want to stress the fish badly in the process. Thanks

Hi mate, i had the same in my 150g tank, it dropped from 7.2 to 5.5 in 2 weeks, i added to my sump in the middle chamber 1kg at first, it raised it to near 6.2, then i added another 1kg and it git it to 7.2, and it is steady for the last month or so.

I've got a 125g and I mixed in 1 20lb bag in with the 100lbs of sand in the tank, and added another 20lbs worth in trays that are sittting in my sump. I've never added any ph up, ph down, nor any buffer, and my ph is a consistent 7.8 even right after a 50% WC.

hmm... so probably use about a 1/3 of a kg then cuz this tank that has the low PH is a 45 gallon, thanks

wow, that's pretty good.. i have a 15lb bag for a 45g so im thinking that should be enough to get it raised to where i want it, at this point i'm just looking for some stability in my ph
