In a box of Pop Tarts!
I just got a used 250 that has about an 1-1 1/2 of crushed coral on on the bottom. I'm not sure how long its been there. My question is is it still good? Does any one want this? I have thrown some away but before I go all the way I thought I would offer it up. There is enough in the bottom to cover a 175 easy.

I want to get rid of it. I only do fresh water...at least for now anyway. So if the coral is still good I am offering it to whoever wants it before I throw it away

It never goes bad. Even if it is coated in gunk, it can always be cleaned.

Take a sample of your tap water to a pool store and ask them to test your tap water (or just call them and ask...they already know). If it is low in comparison to where your fish came from, just add some to the sump or your gravel.

Regardless, keep some for future use (about a gallon or so).

If you were closer I'd take it all (I am turning into a saltwater nurd).

i have about 75 lbs of cc also that i used to use as substrate before i switched to sand. what i did was put it in a huge rubbermade container after it dried out, because i figured id use it later to buffer the water by using it in my sumps.
