shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
i put crushed coral in to raise the hardness of my water, but it went up too much. i havnt found any good instructions on using it. is it something you put in permanently, the amount depending on how many gallons you are treating, or is it something you put in for a short amount of time and remove, and keep placing and removing it trying to balance your waters hardness?

how high do you want to rasie your ph?

my water was very soft and there was no alkalinity. i just want it to be about mid range. i have oscars and a RTC. Ive noticed from the test strips that hardness has been going up but alkalinity and pH have not.

add a 1/4 of the bag first, do your regular water changes, test, add more if needed. how big is your tank?

My crushed coral are in a filter bag in my canister filter. It's easier to adjust the amount of crushed coral if I need to. The crushed coral are not everywhere in the tank!

You have to test a few times before you find the right amount you need for your tank.
