I have a pair of cryptoheros nanoluteus in a community tank. They lay eggs and guard them but there is far too much going on in that tank for them to survive and they lay the eggs on a 3' piece of driftwood so I cant really move it to another tank. I was wondering if when I saw the sex tube pop if I could move them to their own tank and they would still lay the eggs or if it would disrupt them too much and cause them to abort? I can always tell when the ovipositor pops they lay eggs about 3 days later. I know I should just try and see what happens just curious if anyone has used this method successfully?

That's kind of the point. if need be i can arrange for them to have their own space but it will require some juggling and should be only temporary. I now have too many tanks so another is not an option.
