Cryptoheros panamensis pairing up

My Cryptoheros panamensis have finally paired up after raising them from fry 1.75 year ago. Starting from 6, I have one male and 2 females left. The bigger fish, about 3", is the male, and the smaller fish is a female. Both sex develop a small hump, and surprisingly, the females have slightly bigger hump. The pair is fairly tough, and will stand up against fish much bigger. They have been in courtship for a while, but so far no breeding.

They are still young and small. I read that male can hit 6 inch, so there is still some growth left.

How's their aggression? I've read they can be nasty for their size, but I'm wondering if they would do alright with my Heroina which are of similar size and temperament.

They're actually milder than you might imagine, even when breeding. Less psycho than say cons or some others.

I have a breeding pair in with some other Cryptoheros in a 2'x'2'x1' tank...and they breed in a flowerpot. You can tell when there are eggs/fry because the female gets a black face...

nice looking pair,i had 4 growing out,then the storm took out most of my fish...GRRR...do you plan to post any fry for sale? if/when they breed....i am in No.jersey.maybe we trade some fry
