Congratulation! Panamensis IMO is the prettiest crytoheros species and I wonder why it is not more commonly available. You should raise some fry and share them with hobbyists. I have a pair and they spawned a few times but no fry raised yet because they are in a community tank. Next time I will try to siphon a few fry before they are dispersed and got eaten. A spawning pair of Panamensis is most amazing as the pair bond is very strong, and will guard their territory and fight off intruders aggressively even fish much larger. May be you have no dither fish to draw the attention of the male away from the female, or the water change triggered the spawning urge of the pair. Many CA/SAs are induced to spawn right after water change, and pre spawing courtship can be super charged.
