That's so ironic because I will be getting some tommorrow!
Based on what I have read they are less aggressive than convicts and cutteri but are good parents. I have seen them kept with oscars, sevs, livebeares, firemouths, mid temperment fish. They apparently aren't too bad even when spawning and will never kill tankmates just keep them at bay. The females are a real lioness and are more aggressive than the males which get huge nuchal humps even at a young age. The males hit about 5in and females are substantionally smaller. They need typical central american fish requirements(big tank, heavy filteration, etc). I think you can keep a pair in a tank as small as 30 gallons. I've seen a small pair kept temporarily in a 20 gallon with endler's livebearers with minimal damage to the other fish. They aren't THAT rare but it's something you don't see super often. I have certainly never seen them in my area(although I live in a crappy area anyways).
I think that's all I got...
