I got these "convicts" at my local club auction (http://www.bostonaquariumsociety.org
They look alot like female convicts except the fin trails are very long. The largest(1.75")of the 4's dorsal/anal fin exstend about 3/8" behind the tail but they all have orange bellies. Two of them have paired up with a male Geo brasiliensis and layed unfertile eggs( that a strange pair huh)
I was told they were HRP but the only ones ive seen have alot of blue on there body.
Last night I noticed 2 of them guarding a pit behind a peice of driftwood. There in the back corner and that side of the tank is againts a wall so I dont know whats going on back there. Has anyone heard of a male with a orange belly?
Also I bought 2 Port? acaras as they were labeled. They are getting alot of orange on there head and gill plates, can anyone ID these from this low quality picture?
Since Im asking so many? can anyone tell me the sp of Ancistrus the albino is?
Thanks for any help

I just got some HRP from Rob @ Keystone aquatics and they are metallic blue, almost like an ebjd.
It is not uncommon for people to cross HRP and Convicts, these are often spread as blue convicts.

So has anyone seen female convicts with very long fin trails at about 2"?
Has anyone seen a male convict with a light orange belly?
And has anyone seen 2 females trying to mate?
Thank you for any info

The Male from my breeding pair almost looks like a female, he has more orange on him than some of my females, but his whole body is a lot lighter than the typical darker looking Cons with black faces and dark gray and black bodies!

I'm getting HRP from Rumford, when baldie brings the wriglers back!!

My female cons have very long fin extensions, dorsal, anal, and ventral. If it wasn't for the red bellies I'd guess males. They're 2-3" and also have a ton of blue in the dorsal & anal fins mixed with gold, and gold tail fins.
