Crystal red shrimp FINALLY pregnant!

i found it the other day.... one of my CRS is now finally carrying a spawn of eggs under her belly. the eggs are tiny black orbs which she keeps oxygenating with her legs. i may have more than one pregnant female, but its tough to tell them apart. i will post a pic if i can get one, but its difficult since the shrimp must be on the glass and timing/zoom and all. i'm excited though:headbang2
 
I have my first berried cherry shrimp, but I guess it is still 3 weeks or so before there are new free swimming shrimplets...
 
i'm not sure how many shrimp i can expect from this pregnancy
 
I didn't dare start with crystal reds. I started with cherries because apparently it is hard not to breed them ;)
 
that's awesome your shrimp is going to have a babies I hope it has thousand's of alive and healthy one's for you.

Good luck ! : D i bought 2 several months ago .... and luckily they turned out to be a pair and bred.... first batch i got 14 outta it ( now bout half inch big ) ... second batch just spawned yesterday ^_^ all in a lil 3 gal : D
so yea, good luck : ) lotsa moss for the shrimplets : D

the grades on the adult shrimp i have right now are very good. all in the tank are grade a or above. i will be selling some once i get the numbers higher
 
NM :( my berried female was found today under a coconut shell. i'm not sure if she died from getting stuck or if she went under there to die. i managed to extract a few eggs from her but i'm not expecting anything since they need her to continually fan them for oxygen. i'm so pissed
 
cheer up grizzly adams! i just found another of my females is berried now :) i tested all the parameters and it wasn't out of whack. i added some prime just to be safe. hopefully i get some shrimplets out of her
