recently my crs have not been as white as before. their shells seem to be somewhat clear now? what kind of problem is that?

If they inbreed engh they will lose grade but idt thats it

Im having the same problem too, my tank is not cycled enough and I think that's why. THey are very sensitive to pH levels and ammonia. I'm trying to keep up with WC and it seems to have improved a bit. 75% RO and 25% tap.

i have no ammonia, nitrite and under 5ppm of nitrate. i feed them algae wafers. the one that is clearish is carrying eggs. is that maybe a cause?

I've read (seems true in my tank) that they brighten up in cooler temps. (70-74)

Also, I think they need water that is a bit hard, and a non-acidic ph. Have you tried tossing in one of those mineral stones for shrimps/inverts? Mine seem to brighten up when I throw one in for them. Not sure though - only the one tank, no expertise here!
