I'm movin to Connecticut this winter (Dad got a really good job there). Just wondering what sp. of fw fish there are in the lakes and ponds. i know theyll all be frozen over when i get there but come spring i want to set up a small native tank. ive been searching the internet but cant find a good source on CT natives. Any help appreciated.

O and i was wondering if theres anything cool lookin in the rocky beaches i can catch for a 12gal sw tank

wat part of ct r u movin to , i live on the shoreline, but here there are blacknosed dace, golden shiners, lmb, y. perch, black crappie, banded sunfish in a few locations that i know of , some longears, pumpkinseeds, red breasted sunfish, crayfish, darters, chain pickerel, n. pike. and for your small tank(12 gal saltwater) there are not many options eccept some crabs, mummichogs, silversides, an american eel or shrimp. go to the CT DEP, site and you could order the freshwater fishes of Connecticut book it is a good rscource to have around anyways,, any more questions, just ask, ill help...Drew

Rob, have you and Andrew decided who gets what or are you guys still fighting over my ornate?

I saw the CT native fish book and I am thinking about ordering it. For the sw tank that was pretty much what I was planning on keeping. I didn't expect anything colorful but it'd still be cool to have a rubble zone tank with rocks spread evenly on bottom rather than a wall in the back.

Thanks for the help

PS Im moving to somewhere close to Bridgeport. Right now Westport and Fairfield are the top two.

you can see my tank below "My new fishes"
